University of Dayton China Institute

August 8 2012 Grand Opening

The University of Dayton is establishing a presence in China with the Aug. 8 grand opening of the in one of the fastest-growing innovation parks in the world.

Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) officials invited the University of Dayton to open a stand-alone institute in the ultra-modern park and then made a multi-million-dollar investment in the renovation of a five-story, 68,000-square-foot building for classrooms, laboratories and project space.

SIP wants the University of Dayton to do applied research and product development for industries in the park, which is home to a third of the world’s Fortune 500 companies, as well as provide education and training. ...University of Dayton China Institute

Weiping Wang, who has overseen the University of Dayton's initiatives in China since 2002 and helped increase enrollment of Chinese students to a record high, serves as the executive director of the University of Dayton China Institute. ...

Sr. Laura Leming paid a visit to the UD program in Bangalore, India where we have offered a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology at the Deepahalli Educational Center for approximately seven years. Sr. Laura is pictured (at right) with Rani Thanickachalam and Bro. Sebastian Bara, a UD sociology graduate.

Ninth Assembly of the Marianists in India

Eighty-three of our ninety-seven Marianists and twenty-four Aspirants of the District of India gathered at Deepahalli campus, Bangalore for the ninth assembly (2008) held since the arrival of the Marianists in India in 1980.
